The Telecom Intelligence Group Launches Micro Site Initiative on IPTV

Parsippany, NJ (PRWEB via PRWebDirect) June 22, 2006 -- The Telecom Intelligence Group is launching a single-sponsored micro site initiative entitled The IPTV Report that will reside on TelecomWeb.com and will assess the current state of IPTV technology, applications and business strategies for the global service provider/operator community.

The initiative will provide the exclusive sponsor of this project with an opportunity to further establish thought leadership in the IPTV space while generating targeted leads in that environment.

The IPTV Report Micro Site initiative is an integral part of The Telecom Intelligence Group’s Go-to-Market Consultative Communications Campaigns, which explore the role new telecommunications applications and services are playing in the overall economy and in specific market segments. The campaigns are based on primary qualitative and quantitative research from InfoTech – the research and market intelligence unit of The Telecom Intelligence Group. This will provide a foundation for both vendors and users to perform gap analyses that highlight the capabilities of current technology investments in light of emerging requirements in the market.

"When it comes to understanding the business case for technology investments, recent quantitative research by InfoTech confirms that a gap exists between technology developers on one hand, and the end-user community on the other," says Lane F. Cooper, director of special projects for The Telecom Intelligence Group.

While this gap can be attributed to many factors, the overarching reason for the "disconnect" stems from the fundamentally different market perspectives each player brings to the table. Most technology solutions in the telecommunications industry tend to find broad applications across industries and geographies. However, most technology investment decisions tend to be made in specific market segments within specific regions. Reconciling these differences adds time, expense and other sources of friction to the technology-investment process.

The micro site initiatives from The Telecom Intelligence Group will bridge these gaps and create communities that are interested in fully leveraging their investment in next-generation communications and computing technologies.
